Detroit Vintage Coffee and Tea House ~ Detroit, MI

Uniquely Vintage! My first thoughts when entering the humble space of Detroit Vintage. This Coffee and Tea House is breath taking! Every nook and cranny is filled with interesting vintage artifacts. From books to tea cups, your eyes will wonder in amazement.

Detroit Vintage is a one of the most unique houses I have visited. It is a great place to unplug and settle in with family, friends or a special group. I decided to snuggle in on a couch and share the afternoon with my Beautiful Daughters and my Lovely Sands Raina Harris (my line sister of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) Raina and my daughters were the perfect company to have in such an interesting space. We laughed, smiled and joked with each other the whole time there.

We enjoyed hot chocolate, lemon pound cake, caramel cake and a German chocolate brownie. Yummy! Talk about “some kinda good”! Oh my! I can hardly wait to return to this great coffee house.  As many of you know, I typically never get a house brew when I visit coffee houses. It’s normally all about the espresso. Well not this time, upon the suggestion of Pam (the proprietor) I decided to have the house brew and oh what a treat! Pam  served us in a very “royal” manner. Our drinks and treats were served in vintage cups and saucers. The customer service was amazing! The experience unforgettable.

If you are ever in the Detroit area stop by and say hello to Pam, have some coffee and tell her I sent you:)

Vintagely yours,

Alicia

Sisterhood: Soul Therapy — Inspired Life

Tears of joy. Smiles a plenty. Hearts wide open. All found in the uninhibited exchange between sisters. I’ve heard it said, “I don’t ‘do’ women.” What that screams is, I’ve been hurt, I’ve been wounded, I am afraid. Women are wired to be in relationship with one another. There…

House Blend Cafe~Ocoee Florida

This morning, I had a lovely Toffee Latte at the House Blend Cafe. Very good service. They serve breakfast and lunch food.  The menu of coffee and tea is pretty extensive. The Mocha Mint Latte would be a good choice for my husband.

Visiting Ocoee? Check them out. I enjoyed my Latte very much:)

Latte Love,

Vigilante again and again~Hyattsville MD

Mahalo!
Well, by now you must think I live here! Lol! I am here about twice a week though. Today, I couldn’t pass up the chance to tell you about this superb Acai Bowl. The Mahalo Bowl has Banana, Pineapple, Sweetsations Granola and Bee Pollen. Yummy! Anna made it for me and she is really cool too. It is always clear to me that Anna and the rest of the staff at Vigilante just plain love what they do!

They will be celebrating their 2 year anniversary in a few weeks. Make a special trip here. You will be happy you did!

Java Love,

Alicia

The Drunken Monkey~Orlando Florida

The Drunken Monkey is located in the “Milk District” on Bumby Avenue in Orlando Florida. It has to be one of the most unique coffee houses I have visited.  Some people describe it as hipster but I call it “uniquely eclectic.” You will find local art and a variety of comfortable places to sit but no one piece of furniture matches! LOL! They also have a drive thru, which is pretty cool too.

Always a plus, the coffee is roasted in house and they only serve fair-trade, organic or rain forest alliance beans. In addition to coffee, The Drunken Monkey serves tea, smoothies, iced and frozen drinks. They also offer an assorted variety of vegetarian sandwiches, soups, quiches and pastries. I enjoyed the Iced Mocha and my husband had the Iced Caramel Latte. Both were really good. We also had the breakfast burritos, Anzac Cookie (banana, peanut butter and chocolate), snicker doodle and chocolate chip cookies.  The Anzac was by far a favorite. Delish!!! The staff and baristas were very professional and accommodating.

If you are a coffee connoisseur and find yourself in Orlando Florida’s Milk District, give them a visit. You will be pleasantly surprised and happy you did!

Yours in Coffee,

Alicia

Enjoying a delicious Acai Bowl with my two sweet girls today. As usual the staff is amazing. Food is good and the Mocha is out of this world.  Yummy!

This is definitely my favorite coffee spot in Prince George’s County!
